My silly lil 1 year old...

Well, chillu baby's grandpa was supposed to visit us during December vacation and so we were all very much excited about it. We decided to train chillu in saying a few words like 'Tatha', 'Patti', 'Mamma', 'dada'etc....so that it would be a sweet suprise for grandpa when he sees her. The training went on fine for nearly a month..and chillu baby picked up few new words really quick. It was surprising to see her learn this quick. I wasn't anything like her ..neways...back to our chillu baby...
She soon started saying 'tatha', 'pa', 'daa da', 'ya', 'miniaminiaminia - which means carry me immediately, if not ill roll all over the floor thing' , and so many other funny words of her own language.
But 'tatha' seems like the only word familiar to our language.Since, she was comfortable with the word 'tatha'... chillu baby's dad trained her on her next word level 'patti' ... ha ha ha ....at first she got it right.. ...but,CONDITIONS APPLY. If you ask her to say 'tatha', just stick to tatha...if you say 'patti', then just stick to patti ...don't ever get greedy and ask chillu to say both tatha and patti ....oh ho, come on ...she s still a baby, wont she get confused ...This is how it goes if you ask her to say both 'tatha' and 'patti'...

Say 'tatha' - 'TATHA...' 'OK Good girl !!!'
Say 'patti'- after a lot of trials, - 'PAA', 'TI', 'PAA' ' PAA TI ' ....'OK ...fair enough'... next,
Say ' tatha'- 'THA TI ' .....'no no no .....thats paati ....say tatha' ....'THA TIIIIIII'....
no no ..say ' thatha'... - 'THAAA TIIIIII' .... OK fine !!! enough already....if i keep asking her , she will keep IIIIIng' all the words .....silly lil girl !!!

next time, anybody sees her, just ask her to say 'TATHA'...NO 'PATTI' !!!

This was not the welcome song for grandpa...but it definitely did make grandpa happy during his stay with us... Chillu is definitely my silly lil 1 yr old ....:))

And ya, did i forget to mention, that chillu baby is turning 1 year old in 3 days and the countdown has already started...lots of plans for birthday party. Chillu baby has grown up to be a toddler... hurray !!! Will be back with more updates after chillu's birthday party..

Emma is now Mamma...

Well....though chillu cant really talk yet, she is able to understand everything we tell her...
" Go to Daddy" ...she goes.
"Where is mommy ? " - she comes searching for me ...
"Give this to mommy " ....she gives it to me ...
"Where is Fish"... - she tuens towards the fish ...
"Turn On the TV" ... - she turns it ON ...and then OFF again ..ha ha ..
"Clap your hands" - she claps..
But "Sleep baby" - she cries ..:((
" See Doggy " - she sees the TV ...
She dances to any and every music she hears ... probably the next dance idol.. lol ...
She also tells a few words ....like " Appa" ... but sometimes Appa becomes " Akka"..
"Mamma" , "tatha " "ta ta" " Caa .." - for car.. .." Tra - for truck"
"Cuu ..- for cookie"
Again ..the list is endless...

Every single day ...chillu does something interesting...something funny... everyday she learns and explores new new things... and always keeps me on the move (running)...

Right now she is turning this whole house unside down ....so ill run now ... Will give more updates sooner..

Schedule Maintained ??? For Whome ?

Definitely, truely, whole heartedly, i have never ever maintained a schedule for my little bumble bee. But she has a schedule for Mommy ....

• I can brush only if she wants me to...
• I can cook only when she lets me to..
• I can have a bath only when she wants me to...probably EOD.. :((

ha ha ...the list is endless...

My sweet lil chillu baby is now 11 months and yup ...must say, she has got teeth protruding out ...now chillu baby has got totally 4 ... 2 on top and 2 below .. yet another milestone in her growth.. .Well, there is nothing exciting about babies having teeth ... but, its just that seeing each and every small detailed growth ...makes me get excited... I become little exuberant ...:))

Precious Tears II

With regard to my previous post, no offense meant to any of the men. Those were mere inklings which definitely one day of the other would come and go in each and every parents mind at some point in life.. It probably hit our minds pretty early i guess.

But thinking of it in a different way, i.e., thinking in a positive way, that - 'we are going to have a son too a few years from now gives a good feeling. That is what my parents and parents in law did and that is what all parents should do.

Precious Tears are after all for a good reason. And there is no harm in shedding your precious tears for your bumble bees precious life !!! After all it s her happiness thats going to continue life long. So thinking of all the happiness and joy involved ....precious tears are now Happy Tears!!!

Havent blogged abt my sweet chillu baby for quite some time ...so i thought i would ...

So howz Chillu baby these days ?


She s doing great !!!


She walks, runs, and even eats all by her self... Does nt want to be fed anymore. " Mommy, dont feed me. Im a Big Girl now " is the expression i get nowadays.. :( Though im a lil happy at the corner of my heart now.. a thought keeps wandering around my mind, as to ~" i can cuddle, feed, adorn, bath, dress etc, my baby only for a few more yrs' . After that, will i be hearing " Mommy, dont touch me, Im a grown up and i can do things my self " from my baby ??? :((( ...


I also keep thinking, as a mother, i make sure she gets the best out of even the smallest of smallest things in the whole world...Of course every mother would think in the same way. And now that she has started calling us " Ma " "Pa" , and plays " Hide n Seek ", " laughs " , " winks " etc , our love for her has increased in infinite measure... Her activities are very cute and hilarious and anybody wowuld instantly fall in love with this sweet chillu baby..



But, some day, we have to let go our daughter to some stranger we dont know or heard of at all ?????? !!!! This is insane and ridiculous .... I cant let goo ..neither can my husband. It so happened , yesterday my hubby said to me " Today i dont feel that good, some thoughts are flashing all over my mind that Some day we have to be away from our daughter... " . And "What a co-incidence!!!" i said.. Coz i was thinking of the same for quite some time ....



How can a stranger come in all of a sudden from on where, just to marry our daughter and seperate her from us ??? Thats the day i wish would hope never ever come by... And in the way time flys by, makes me want to use a "Time turner " and let her remain with us in the same way !!!

But i know... this cant happen. Time does fly in light's speed and she seems to be growing in twice the light's speed .. and now tears are rolling past my cheeks ..:(



I wonder how my parents felt, when they let me go ??? I know they would have had immense pain in their hearts .. I saw my parents cry the day i got married. And that was the first time i saw my father ( my hero ) cry !!!



And yes, it would be the same, years from now for us both too... And i am still now able to believe im going to be in the same position my mother was, a few years later. Anyways, "there are lot more happy moments and good cherishable moments to come which we need to focus on now then to keep worrying about something in the future" is how i convince my self .... I guess, every parent, including myself should just learn or try to get used to god's plan and live our lives!!!


I had no intention to shed my tears before i started writing this blog ... But towards the end, i am ....... and so i updated the title accordingly..
Love you mom. Love you dad ...

Well....wanted to share with you all a very cute and innocent video which myself and chillubaby enjoy watching the most. I generally get mails on how the baby's development should be at every stage ... And it stated for my 9 months old that:"By this week, your baby may be able to pull herself up very easily and sit down again (without just falling back on her butt). She's also likely developed enough leg strength and balance to go for a little walk with you if you hold both of her hands -- great practice for her first unassisted steps, which may happen any day now (although most infants don't start walking solo until closer to 13 months). "

What can i say ...." Chillu baby is already walking and running and tottering all around the place ... " I know ....i keep telling this again and again....Its just that im so baffaled and obfuscated about how chillu baby is able to do it !!! Well ...if you are wondering how ???? Its in her genes .... Oh come on, its not from me!!!. Its from her father !!!

Its so that even Chillu baby's father started walking and running at the early age of 9 months. Hey, im not being frivolous. ..Its true. These were the few things ppl told me when we got married :))Ya he is squite an extra ordinary genius in everything. And thats where chillu baby got all her energy and stamina from...

Neways every child is different and unique in his/her own way. I can see how unique my sweet chillu baby is ....You are special my sweet baby. You are ...always my sweet lil chillu baby!!! And im proud of you....

Peek - a - Boohhhhh

Peek-a- Booh ....Peek - a - Booh ....
Chillu baby loves to play Peek-a- booh. Its more like the hide n seek game.
Earlier ( when chillu was a baby) myseslf and chillu's sdaddy used to hide our selves behind whatever and peek out ...chillu would get really exicted on that ....now she has started playing the same with us .. ( not that she is not a baby now ....she always is mommy's sweet lil chillu baby... )
She would go n hide her self...sometimes cover only her face, thinking the rest of her body is being covered too??????? and Peek - a - Booh ....

ha ha ...and if you ever try to catch her , she would run and totter as fast as she can.. ....

Learnt to run mmmm ....

Homemade Baby Food Recipies

Id like to share with you some of the home made recipies that ur baby would savor eating ... Chillu baby enjoys trying different flavours..
P.S. : These recipies are meant for babies older than 6 months.
* Lentils and rice (cereal):
Cook the lentils ( dhal) nicely and smash it.
Mix it with boiled rice or rice cereal.
Add lil ghee to it
Mix nicely and feed baby . I love it too. Try it.

* Carrot and Beans with Rice (cereal):
Boil and smash carrot and beans.
Mix it with boiled rice or rice cereals
Mix nicely and feed baby.

* Ragi soup ( Kanji)
Allow that ragi grain to sprout. ( this will take a day)
Once done, grind the sprouts and extract milk.
Boil the milk and feed baby.
Adding sugar is optional. Recommended not to add sugar.
This recipe is rich in proteins and fiber. Its good for baby. Try it out

* Vegetable Soup
Boil any vegetables you want ( Tomato, potato, onion, carrot, beans, corn, peas, squash, etc)
Add one garlic along with the vegetables.
Once cooked, beat it in the mixy and feed baby. Baby's will love a diff taste.
Adding salt is optional.

* Apple Sauce:
Boil the apples and beat them in the mixy or smash them.
Filter , to give apple juice. Or can even feed just like that as apple sauce.

I would suggest, not to add salt and sugar for babies less than 1 yr old.

Huray !!!

Chillu baby has got one tooth exuding out of her soft and tender lower gums...one more is on its way out !!! Hmmm ....she has also started saying a few words like "ta ta" , "atta atta ...", "aye..."...and "ellae ellae .." as usual ....Good Job baby !!!

Chillu's Favourite's ....

Fisher Price, Toys to play, hughes, Play school .....nah nah nah !!! nothing is as interesting as my kitchen utensiles for chillubaby!!! ...Ya , u heard it right, Chillu baby's favourite time pass is to play with my kitchen utensiles...Had i known it before, i would nt have invested in buying loads and loads of toys ....ha ha. Just kidding baby ...mommy will get u lots of toys neways !!!

Ok, so where were we ? Yes, lemme continue .on how she does it !!!..She would sit right next to the dish washer...pull out all the vessels that are at her reach and play. The vessles are her drums and the spoons are her sticks ...If these two are at her reach ur gone for a sixer !!! Hey these are not drums on which u keep hitting until it looses its shape !!! I cant explain how shapeless all my vessles are...All the spoons, plates, kadai, idly tray.... Oh come on ..what can be so interesting about that!!! But that keeps her busy and entertained for a while and im happy about that. After all, babies at this age are very curious enough and like to poke their nose into everything possible....i dont need a walker or a jumper or anything to appease her ....just open the dish washer and she s all set and busy !!! ha ha thats my sweet lil girl ....

Something that happened when i was a kid just struck my mind... My dad used to buy me toys to play ( duh ..all parents do ) ...and he would tell me " Play with it and break it ...i want to buy you more toys !!!" to break ... The same thing replicates here ...i keep telling chillu, "Play with all the vessles and break it soon ...I want to buy new vessles !!! " :))

Yet Another Milestone !!!

Just completed 9 months and chillu baby has mastered to walk on her own !!! It just looked like she was a lil pumkin in my arms yesterday and today ....my baby has started walking!!! wohooo !!! Pretty exciting to watch her do all her first moves. Her flight would take off ..tottering and swaying all around as much as she can and land when ever she loses her balance... woops we would say, but she just gets up again with the same temperament and continue walking. Now she walks in and out of our whole house. As i already said, im not sure if babies grow fast...but my baby is definitely growing in rapid speed. ..

Toooooooo much LOVE for Daddy ...

It was chillu s bed time and chillu baby was feeling so drowzzzy ...she almost went to sleep, when suddenly she remembered " Oh oh am i in mommy's arms ..."NOOO i want daddy to make me sleep !!!" ...she started crying and yelling ....yelling and crying..went on with her elle elle elle ...... I tried so many things to stop her cry ..but in pain !!!

Chillu baby's dad was so tired after the days work and had gone early to bed and so i did nt want to disturb him...but she wanted only her daddy daddy and daddy ... Poor he....had to get up from his deep sleep..As soon as her daddy carried her ... She stopped all the noise, like" Thats what i was waiting for ...!!!" and went to sleep hugging her daddy mighty mighty.....

He put her to sleep next to him, covering her with his blanket. She was so happy..that she put one leg on top of him ..(which just reached his chest... ha ha ..tiny pumkin !! ) and one hand around his neck and happily went to sleep..

Ha ha ....im happy she s 'daddy s lil girl' for this one reason atleast ..:)

What next ??? I would nt be suprised to hear this....' i want daddy to bath me and feed me ..' lolz....Ill be the happiest to hear that!!! ..

Daddy's lil girl !!!

It so happens that every week day morning, cillu baby gets so upset when her dad has to leave for work and says "ta ta Bye " to her ...She just gives him a dull face, turns towards me and gives an exclamated look like " Am i not going with daddy ? " .... lol..I somehow get her involved in so many other things during the day but she always seems to be waiting for her daddys advent..

It was 5:30 PM on a week day and it was time for chillu baby's dad to come home. She was busy playing with her toys. All of a sudden she started crawling towards the door... waiting for the door to be opened. When i went towards the door , the door bell rang !!! It was her dad !!! I have no idea, how she got to know that her dad was coming ...This happens everyday ( if she is not asleep then..) . She gets all geared up and agoged ....ready to go out !!! Even during the day, when ever there is a phone call from daddy, she tries to grab the phone from me like saying " I want ot talk to dad ....I want to talk to daddy ..!!"

She completely forgets the mother character here ( thats me..) ...mmm She s indeed Daddy's sweet lil girl !!!

How to make babies sleep through night ....

My baby was a real adamant and a cry baby till i learnt a magic to pacify her during nights..It was a real blessing...It may sound very simple but trust me ..it really works !!!

Follow a specific routine for your baby everyday. Maintain the same bed time everyday. Like 9 pm is bedtime. Just before bedtime, give a warm good bath for your baby. Give a nice massage to sooth the baby... Feed the baby after bath and swaddle the baby. This will make the baby go to sleep in no time.... By 9 pm make the baby sleep. By 12 am give another feed for the baby.i.e., while your baby is asleep offer the baby her bottle or feed... Baby will sleep though out the night peacefully...
Simple....and Effective !!!

Her wee wee wee !!!

Well well well...Inspired by the sweet lil things that my baby girl does each and every day i decided to write down 'my experience with my fast growing baby' ....Im not too sure if babies grow fast or is my baby growing fast !!! Ahana definitely seems to be growiwng in rapid speed.... I remember seeing her in the size of a lil pumkin and now she s already grown to be a lil puppy !!! Sweet lil 8 month old puppy crawling all around the place and making a mess !!!
Let me start with telling you how she cries. Coz that was the first thing she did on earth ..Not many children cry with words immediatley after birth. But this lil brat of mine cried out saying 'ella...ella...ella...'on day 1 . All of us were like, what !!! is she saying " No, No, No.....i want to go back !!! I want my own space !!! " Strange but still ..It was nice to hear she using words while she was crying ....though she is not aware of it yet !!! Hearing her cry for the first time ....That was the happiest moment ever !!! Ofcourse thats the happiest for every mother ..lol.

Even now, she cries out saying ella...ella...ella.... and also added emma emma emma ...ella ella ella!!! It sounds like amma amma amma to me... Daddy gets angry when she says that. He fights with her saying "Tell appa...then only ill carry u " ...but she has still not got the hold of saying Appa ... he he he ...i feel happy about that ...

The first few days were really hectic for us with ahana coz she would nt sleep at night. Lucky us, we had my mother for help. Thanks ma for that ..:) . She used to cry cry and cry.... What a cry baby u were Ahana darling .. Till she was 6 months old she used to cry thoughout the night... I used to feel J when i hear people say " My kid sleeps though the night and does not disturb us at all ..." Then my friend taught me a migic trick to make babies sleep through the night ..!!! I tried it with the magic wand and tada .....Ahana started sleeping during nights....That was like Magic !!! Ever since then we are sleeping happily ever after ....oh oh ...but that was not all....

Allof a sudden yesterday, she started crying like anything.... what ever we did just increased her yell... She was going on and on and on ....it was like we were back in Square One !!! ... It took a long time to allay her .... What happened to the Magic ??? It was easy to carry a pumkin all night . Imagine carrying a lil puppy whole night !!!....wohh.... After making her udnerstand " Mom and dad are pavam ....can mommy get some rest" i guess she she considered my appeal to her and soon went to sleep...

I hope that night s incident does nt repeat again in future ...If it does, what else can i do than to give in to her :) After all, she s still my sweet lil pumkin !!!...
